"Before Jessica and I partnered together, I was experiencing constant, painful bloating and stomach irritation. I had not firmly identified what was causing it, and had spent years, trying and failing, to figure it out!
I had some hesitation with working with a practitioner, as it is a financial commitment with no guarantees of success. I also knew the process was not going to be easy. I’d done enough work on my own to know that the process would likely entail food restrictions and eliminations, which require some major support and will power.
I partnered with Jessica because I was not making any headway on my own anymore. My symptoms were at their worst, and I did not want to live like I was any longer.
THE DI-JESS-TION METHOD made sense to me. It wasn't just random advice, like “Stop eating all processed food and you'll feel better!”. Taking a DNA Stool Test, and the analysis of the results, was invaluable. It felt like "Aha! I'm not making this up!”. It was the the proof that something was off in my body that was making me feel the way I’d been feeling. And then, my protocols were designed to address the results. It was the answer to the problem! Here's what's going on in your body, and here's how we're going to address it. It made so much sense to me, and was such a relief.
Many things worked well for me throughout our time together:
- Tracking my bowel movements and food and water intake, and receiving feedback - it provided accountability and feedback quickly, and I was able to make changes right away. I now experience daily, consistent and solid bowel movements.
- The protocols and feedback at different stages of the process were very helpful. To be able to slowly add different types of foods back in halfway through the killing protocol was a great way to feel like "Yay, I can eat something different!", and "How do I feel when I eat this?". The protocols were detailed and easy to follow, and I appreciate that Jessica pivoted with where I was at if I missed a day or two here or there.
- The weekly check-ins were great! It was also very handy to be able to DM Jessica if I ever had any questions or concerns between the weekly check-ins.
- The recipes are great! I still use them and some of the breakfasts are my go-to recipes now. I know I feel good when I eat them, and that they're healthy.
- Jessica’s encouragement and positivity were invaluable. Jessica never made me feel like I wasn't doing a good job if I'd missed something, or ate something I probably shouldn't have. She always turned it into learning - How did you feel when you ate that? What did you notice? I never felt like I had to 'hide' anything, because I might get flack for it. That's a big deal.
- I definitely feel more in control of my body now. I have a better understanding of what's going on, and have tools to lean back on if I'm not feeling great. I can reflect on what I've eaten and try to gauge what might be causing me to feel the way I am, and make a change to address it.
- The chronic painful bloating is gone. I still have occasional bloating, and things still irritate my system on occasion, but I don't feel helpless anymore. I know what to do to calm my system down. And when I do get bloated or irritated, my system works through it much faster than it used to. I'm not suffering for 2+ days - usually a few hours at most. So much of a difference!
- I now focus on protein at meals. This was never really on my radar before. I don't get it right at every meal, but certainly the majority of them. I notice a difference when I don't eat enough protein.
I have my body back, and no longer feel helpless and blindly searching for answers. This programming and support from Jessica has changed my mindset, my attitude, and my life in general!
No matter how much research you do on your own, it is tremendously helpful to have someone help guide you through the process and help identify what's going on. As a Healthcare Professional, I felt I should be able to figure some of this out on my own, but I did not have the knowledge base to get where I am today. There is TOO MUCH information out there to wade through, to know what is relevant to me or not.
I carry forward all the knowledge I've gained through the process, including the knowledge that you can bring your body back to a healthy place after years of discomfort and inflammation. I also now have Jessica as a resource to reach out to in the future – someone I trust to guide me - should any issues arise.
I'm proud that I took a leap of faith and trusted Jessica. There are no guarantees in life. My gut instinct said this was the right path for me, and I listened to it. It's the best investment in my health I could have made.
If you are willing to put in the work, it is 1000% worth it. Jessica has the knowledge and tools to help you take control of your body again, but it won't be easy. There's no magic pill that you take to fix it all. It's a process that takes time and commitment on your part, but the results are absolutely worth it!"

"I am proud that I have been able to get my health back under control! I was becoming defeated, as with everything that I had tried or been through, nothing seemed to make a meaningful impact on my Colitis/overall health. I was struggling to maintain the inflammatory markers in my blood work and was struggling to get my Ulcerative Colitis back into remission. "Jessica was able to support our staff during a recent Corporate Wellness Workshop by providing them food ideas that are healthier, along with sample recipes. She provided them different cooking ideas, including what types of anti-inflammatory ingredients to cook with. I enjoyed learning a new approach with various (anti-inflammatory) oils you can use for cooking, as well as preparing food options that are healthier, such as bone broth. I learned that quite a few staff members enjoyed what they were shown and learned something from the session.
