Lemon Turmeric Energy Bites

I bet you've never come across a flavour profile for an 'energy bite' like this one!

 

If you're a huge fan of the brightness and tang of fresh lemon, love the crunchiness of rolled oats, raw nuts/seeds and unsweetened/shredded coconut, and can get on board with the taste of turmeric, then you'll LOVE this recipe!

 

Balanced with fiber, fat and protein, they're the perfect, refreshing snack while on-the-go, just in time for the spring and summer ahead! 2-3 of them go a long way in being fuelling and satiating!

 

NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF THE KEY INGREDIENTS

Lemon[i]:

  • Cleanses the liver and the bloodstream
  • Supports digestion
  • Strengthens Immune System function
  • Helps regulate blood cholesterol levels and blood pressure
  • Alkalizing for the body once metabolized
  • Be sure to seek out firm and heavy lemons that have a rich and vibrant yellow colour, along with a smooth and slightly-glossy outer surface

Turmeric[ii]:

  • Is considered to be a full-body tonic
  • Its active constituent curcumin is a potent antioxidant
